Matt Wyatt started playing drums at age 10, journaling and writing poems a few years later, and making recordings on four track cassette in his late teens. He has an affinity for deep grooves, catchy hooks, field recording, found sounds, poetry, Japanese tea, mountains, and bicycles. Wyatt has extensively recorded, performed, produced, and co-written with many artists and bands over his 25 year career in music and currently collaborates as a songwriting partner and producer with the artist Night Teacher. He has been commissioned to compose recorded work for dance, film, and soundscape architecture. Wyatt self-published a book of poems in 2005 and shares new writing online here. He released an album of musical sketches called “Boom and Bloom” on WarHen Records in 2020 and will release his debut full-length album Exist Everywhere in the fall of 2024. Wyatt works out of his studio Tree & Booms in Charlottesville, VA.
